The Throne Room had always been out in the open, located on a piece of floating rock above the Skyavok city of Thre-All. It acted as a meeting place between the leaders of each Class, as well as the main office of the current leader of all Skyavok, the position of All-Ksa.
This position was currently in the hands of a somewhat controversial being. Yes, Kayel and his Ksa, the leaders of the L-Class, had fairly won the recent election, defeating the economically-driven N-Class, but they were still an odd choice due to their Class’s main focuses: sexual health and services. Normally, the L-Class worked on a varied collection of tasks, everything from giving sexual education to the young, helping fellow Skyavok through their pregnancies, working nurseries and hatcheries for disadvantaged Skyans, operating sperm and egg banks and, weirdest of all, prostitution. The L-Class Ksa were very keen on protecting the rights of everyone, especially sex workers.
Today though, only a handful of Class leaders, better known as Ksa, were gathered around. Alongside Kayel were Teekay, leader of the K-Class, in charge of interior and exterior defence; and Nenth, the leader of the Θ-Class. Nenth was always present, since he and his Class ran a huge amount of intricate systems, most notably the recording of all goings on in Skyavok society. They also dealt with taxes.
“So why are you here today, Teekay my dear?” Kayel sat happily in his big, fluffy chair. It was a tradition that the current All-Ksa could redecorate the Throne Room as they pleased, but the fact that everything was fluffy or made out of silk bothered the normally rather stern K-Class Ksa.
“We, uh…” Maybe it was the dancing projections on the wall behind Kayel that were putting Teekay off. Either way, he felt uncomfortable. “We got a message from the High Generals of the Union. They wish to speak to us.”
A massive grin grew across Kayel’s face. “Which one of them?”
“Both of them, All-Ksa. But the letter was signed by High General Elkay of the Rethavok. We normally have a zero contact policy between ourselves and the bastard Retha-”
“Don’t call them bastards…” Kayel interrupted. “We’re not doing that any more. We always complained when they belittled us, it’s hypocritical to do the same! What do they want?”
Teekay flicked through the letter. “Something about re-establishing contact, offering us a place within the Reth-Vrekan Union. Mostly just rubbish about new leaderships and letting go of the past.”
Kayel shrugged. “I take it by your attitude that you are not keen on re-establishing contact with our Rethavok buddies?”
“No, Kayel. They did enslave us, you know.”
“Yeah, back when slavery was legal!” Nenth butted in, seeming rather annoyed. “Slavery was made illegal in these territories like, five hundred years ago. Kayel, ser, I believe this is a great opportunity to get back in touch. We have a new, open leader. The Rethavok have two great leaders in charge now, who we know are reliable. The old Rethavok High General is gone, he was exiled to goodness knows where.”
Kayel smiled at Nenth. “Exactly! If we get into their fancy Union, we’ll get a huge flood of income and we can get to work fixing all the piss that the N-Class Ksa broke. As it stands, we can only trade with what, ten percent of the Union?”
“Seven percent.”
“Well, we need to fix that.”
Teekay raised his hand. “Security will be a problem.”
“Nah!” Kayel grinned. “We won’t bring him here though. I’ll get some of my kiddos to set up a place on the outskirts of our territories. That way you don’t need to worry about intercity security and it’s nice and easy to tidy up. We’ll just let High General Elkay come and visit us, since he’s the smart, sexy one.”
Teekay hesitated. “Just General Elkay? Just the Rethavok?”
“Yep.”
“Why?”
“Because it’s the Rethavok we are both pissed off with but most relate to!” Kayel explained. “Plus, I have ideas. Lots of them.”
Teekay sighed. “Very well, All-Ksa. I shall make arrangements for you to meet.” With a bow, Teekay spread his orange energy wings and flew off.
Kayel grinned happily to himself, only for Nenth to interrupt his pride.
“You’re not planning on…”
“Shush…” Kayel smiled once more. “I know what I’m doing. This will be amazing for all of us…”
