“Hey, thanks for fixing up my darling little demon guy!”
Kratons stared at Mazeps, while Syllogis stifled laughter. The Collectors were a very old hidden Trio that did as their name suggested. They collected things. Mostly super powerful artifacts. Many of which had been somewhat stolen from Voidborns or Life Goddesses. And were occasionally stolen by them as well. Most of these items were kept in a special pocket dimension only accessible to other Hidden Trios and by Deathven, but Lifean and a handful of Divine Trios (the Divine Guardian equivalent) also had access if needed.
That being said, occasionally, beings would try and break into the Grand Collection, the Collectors’ pocket dimension, or worse, they would try to break into the Cold Glimmer Gatherer, their personalised ship. Whenever that happened, Kratons, the smallest but also most ferocious and angry member of the Collectors, understandably codenamed Coldfury, would go into rage mode and start murdering.
This had happened a few hours ago. A lump of Corruption had tried to eat the ship, Kratons had gone all rage mode and, in the process, had gotten some Corruption on his hand. Everything else was fine, but Syllogis, the Gatherer, had been immensely worried that their antiviral supplies weren’t enough to fully fix Kratons up, so they had rushed to the Hidden Hospital to make sure Kratons wasn’t infected.
“No worries!” Letalis, the weird, vampiric and also angelic armoured being, grinned. “That is just our duties! Ralian healed the little guy up no problem!”
Kratons stopped staring at Mazeps and stared at Letalis instead. There was a lot of anger there but also a lot of confusion. Kratons was small compared to Mazeps and Syllogis but he was still huge compared to Ralian and Letalis, and utterly colossal compared to Veeyel.
“What?” Letalis asked. “We healed you! All good, right?”
Ralian nodded in agreement. “Glimmerstone, Gatherer, Coldfury is back to full health. We request you be a little more careful though. Using twin blades against Corruption is not always the best move.”
Kratons clearly took offence to this. He summoned a blade and pointed it at Ralian. Being a large, overly muscular humanoid being with a dog-like head, white-furred skin and painted on blue tattoos, he was a rather intimidating being. “Shut up.”
“My comment is fair.”
“You have fire powers.”
“You have cold powers and ranged abilities.”
Kratons was getting more and more angry, but before he could do anything rash, Veeyel swiftly disarmed him with a cloak of shadows.
“Now, now! Don’t even THINK about harming my angels!”
This time, Kratons calmed down and backed off. He calmed down completely as Syllogis put their massive, furry arms around Kraton. Syllogis was at least 4m tall, probably taller, and was a colossal bear being. A rather cuddly one, weirdly. Mazeps was just a pretty standard dragon being but in gold, with various gems embedded in his skin. He was wrapped up in gold and silver silk which hid his delicate parts.
“Kratons, my dear, please, apologise to the Healers!” Mazeps growled.
Kratons immediately did as he was told.
“Sorry. I do not like my skills being insulted.”
Veeyel shrugged. “Yeah, I get it. Ralian’s right though, you need to not try and punch Corruption so much. It deserves being punched repeatedly, but punching doesn’t work.”
“I know, I know…”
Syllogis hugged Kratons tightly, then put their other arm around Mazeps. “It is all fine. Are we all good to go now? Does Kratons require any extra care or anything?”
“Oh no, not at all!” Veeyel smiled. “He’s all good. You can go back to your weird pocket dimension now.”
“Well, thank you! We appreciate the assistance, Healers!” Syllogis smiled back. “We wish you well.”
“No worries, we are just doing our jobs!” Letalis grinned.
“Indeed! Don’t come back soon!” Veeyel waved the Collectors off.
Mazeps lowered his head in courtesy. Kratons grunted. Syllogis grabbed both of them and started leading them off, towards the exit. Once the coast was clear, Ralian almost snarled.
“Corruption, AGAIN!” Ralian hissed.
Letalis shrugged. “It happens. Corruption is all over the place.”
“I guess. But I do have a question though…” Ralian’s tone quietened down a bit. “Are the Collectors like us?”
“What do you mean?” Veeyel asked. “They’re a Hidden Trio, like us.”
“Yes but… we are in a romantic relationship. We… regularly sleep together and things like that. Are we alone in that regard?”
Veeyel thought to himself, then shrugged. “I got no idea. Letalis, you got a… telepathic idea?”
Letalis also thought to himself. But he started grinning. “I do have a telepathic idea. Syllogis gave Mazeps and Kratons a little kiss after they left.”
“Oh…” Ralian seemed to smile a little. “That is good. Sometimes I wonder if we are alone in being a romantic Trio. Most Trios, Hidden, Famed or otherwise, are not lovers, just permanent friends. There are pockets where they are lovers, but it seems such situations are rare.”
Letalis thought a little more. “I actually do not know if it is rare or not. After all, was the Overlord not in some sort of relationship?”
“No one really knows what that relationship was like though…” Ralian went back to frowning. “Also, I am not sure if other Hidden Trios are… as close as we are. I mean, we share a bed and each others’ bodies. Even if Veeyel is small.”
Veeyel smiled. “You both know I like being squished between you both. But I actually think, even if romance is rare, it’s really common to have one big guy, one medium guy and one small guy in a Trio. At least… at least in Hidden Trios.”
“Have we met every Hidden Trio?” Letalis asked. “I am pretty sure we have not.”
“Who have we not met?” Ralian also asked. “Apart from those who… are no longer with us…”
Veeyel seemed unbothered. “I might look it up. But I think we’ve met everyone. Can’t think of anyone off the top of my head.”
Letalis frowned briefly, but quickly perked up. “Oh well. Can we go and snuggle now, please?”
“Oh, of course, my darling!”
