Shadowscythe: Pretty sure we all do, it’s rare to not have a Truthtalker in sub-sects along the borders.
Silverspear: Does anyone NOT have a Truthtalker in their ranks?

Arcblade: Hello, apologies for my tardiness.
Arcblade: I do not have a Truthtalker in my sub-sect, but I do guard the Venta-Kinigi-Goldtorn Divide, and my entire unit consists of Beh’ens.
Arcblade: That reminds me, Silverspear, did you finally confirm your species?
Silverspear: Yeah. Not a Beh’en. 100% not. I know what my original species was but it’s a dead, universe-bound one. Kinda always knew, but that’s not important right now.
Arcblade: Fair enough.
Arcblade: So why are we asking about Truthtalkers?
Bloodstealer: Is this to do with that nasty little mess up on the Tennoraka border?
Shadowscythe: What mess?
Bloodstealer: You know! The silly murder!
Goldclaw: What murder?
Bloodstealer: One of the Justarian Lords on the Tennoraka border got deaded! Think it was like… a mutiny or something. Rumour was one of the metal meanies did it.
Silverspear: Wait, a Truthtalker did it?
Bloodstealer: Yeah, apparently. That’s what my buddy said.
Bloodstealer: They didn’t tell anyone though.
Bloodstealer: Keeping it all under wraps, the big guys don’t want folks knowing that Justarian Lords can get killed easily. Or that they got deaded by one of their own.
Bloodstealer: You know how the Big T is with all his silent kids.
Goldclaw: Well, it is understandable, considering what happened then the Traitor left.
Shadowscythe: I hate to distract and get political, but, like, Silverspear and I went to that Trio Party last year and Veilbreaker wasn’t a traitor, Truthtalker just locked him up as a baby because he was scared of Veilbreaker’s potential power. That’s why all Truthtalker’s children these days are genderless or female and can’t reproduce.
Silverspear: Yeah, Veilbreaker didn’t seem like a bad person or anything. Not even scary either. I’d bet money that you’d all find Deathbringer scarier.
Arcblade: (Who is Deathbringer?)
Silverspear: One of the Missing.
Silverspear: You’re all completely bloody distracting me.
Silverspear: But that murder might be related.
Silverspear: I missed the check-in because I was attacked by one of my own troops. Forgedtruth, one of my Truthtalker troops, charged at me with a dagger. I subdued them and they are in detention right now, but Forgedtruth has been somewhat unresponsive to, well, anything.
Bloodstealer: *GASP* are you alright?
Silverspear: I’m fine, my guards are fine, no one was hurt apart from Forgedtruth. I had to stab them in the leg to stop their charge. However, Forgedtruth, who was formerly rather… not talky, but at least somewhat animated for a Truthtalker, is basically delirious now, and has no memory of what they did.
Silverspear: I only have four Truthtalkers in my sub-sect, I ordered the other three to go to the medical bays and remain there until further notice, just in case something is wrong with them too.
Goldclaw: Was the attack provoked in any way? Truthtalkers do not just blatantly attack folks. That is much more of a lost dead species thing to do.
Silverspear: Not at all.
Silverspear: Also, that’s racist.
Goldclaw: Many murders are done by those belonging to dead or universe-bound species.
Silverspear: The numbers are skewed here in the Justarian Circle because most beings here are FROM dead species! Are you going to claim that Beh’evok are dangerous now because most murders in the Goldtorn Remains are committed by Beh’evok? Or Zarians are dangerous because most murders in Tennoraka are done by Zarians?
Bloodstealer: Well tbh Zarians are kinda murder-y.
Bloodstealer: Locals here call them space ninja hobos.
Silverspear: Mate, you’re ruining my point.
Bloodstealer: Fair, sorry.
Bloodstealer: But like, this Truthtalker just flat out attacked you? Didn’t say anything?
Bloodstealer: I know they don’t say much anyway, but they didn’t even say why they tried to kill you?
Silverspear: Forgedtruth has no idea what they did. No recollection or anything. Our Psion inspected them and they have a complete blank space in their memory of the hour before and during the event. As far as Forgedtruth is concerned, they were just getting off their ship after their patrol and they woke up in the prison cells. Nothing in between those two events.
Silverspear: Our Psion has done checks for everyone else, nothing unusual has come up on telepathic spectrums, but there was a flicker of something on the other Truthtalkers that we’re unsure about. Mindskimmer has sent the information higher up but we haven’t heard back yet.
Silverspear: Other Truthtalkers haven’t shown any signs of anything unusual yet, but considering how… clean this attempted attack was, I’m not taking any chances.
Silverspear: I know you all have Truthtalkers in your sub-sects, especially you, Goldclaw. Your second-in-command is a Truthtalker. Might be worth looking into.
Goldclaw: I think you are overanalysing this.
Shadowscythe: Bloodstealer literally just said there was another such attack, a more successful attack, on the Tennoraka border. It’s better to be on the safe side.
Shadowscythe: I’m going to send my Truthtalkers to speak with my Master Psion now. I only have four, same as Silverspear, but I’m getting older and slower, I’ve been here since just after Firestorm left, I can’t afford to take risks.
Goldclaw: I still think this is an exaggeration.

Bloodstealer: Apparently about half an hour ago. Ain’t got deets yet.
Arcblade: Is that sub-sect mostly made up of Truthtalkers?
Shadowscythe: Yes, but they aren’t led by one.
Shadowscythe: I’m talking to my guards and my Master Psion right now.
Bloodstealer: Same! Same! I only got one Truthtalker here but still!
Goldclaw: Very well. Better safe than sorry, I guess.
Silverspear: I’m hoping this is an isolated case but… from what they’ve announced…
Silverspear: I’m worried.
Bloodstealer: There were always rumours about the shiny guys. Prone to snapping. Things like that.
Goldclaw: That is too far.
Goldclaw: Do what you must, but I will not have you badmouthing and spreading rumours about His children. Understood?
Bloodstealer: Sure. Whatever.
Silverspear: A little hypocritical after what you said about dead species beings.
Goldclaw: Enough. I have work to do. Speak soon.
