Calohxaa paused before opening the front door, peering at herself in a little nearby mirror. She was in a bit of a mess, so she took a moment to tidy herself up. A quick brush of her hair, a hasty cleanse of her hands and a little brush down and… wait, what was she doing? Ah yes, the Life Goddess was ready to greet whoever was at the door.
First though, she needed to see who it was. Calohxaa pressed a button on the console by the front door. A tiny screen popped up with a camera, showing what was outside. To Calohxaa’s surprise, it was a… Life Goddess? Sure, it was a very, very small Life Goddess, but it definitely looked like one. Its body shape was female, it had nice hips, a bit of a bust and those familiar wisps of primordial energy. In this case though, the wisps were yellow and blue, rather than Calohxaa’s pink and purple.
Feeling uncertain, Calohxaa pressed another button. This opened a tiny little hole to the outdoors, allowing Calohxaa to sniff and taste the air. All this did was confirm her suspicions though. There WAS a Life Goddess at the door.
Calohxaa shrugged, then opened up the front door to greet this being.
“Hello!” the creature immediately chirped. “I’m sorry to bother you, but have you seen my servants? I asked them to go get me directions and they haven’t come back!”
“Servants?” Calohxaa asked. It took a moment to remember whether she had seen any or not. “Uh, how many?”
“Just the three. One about your size and two a bit smaller? Green, red and purple!”
“Oh!” Calohxaa exclaimed. “I am sorry! Didn’t know they belonged to another Life Goddess! I have seen them, they’re in here, I just need to fetch them. Would you like to come in for some tea?”
The little Life Goddess thought to herself, then checked a band on her wrist. “Hm… I suppose I could. But I can’t stay too long, I have a meeting with some Voidborns. Guess they can wait a bit longer…”
“Oh, of course! I won’t keep you long!” Calohxaa beamed, leading the Life Goddess inside, snapping her fingers as she did so. “Silly things are so insistent on their time keeping! What is your name, dearie? I am Calohxaa, the Divine of this little Castle of Clouds.”
“You can call me Arky!” the tiny Life Goddess replied, following Calohxaa into what looked like a main hall that looked like the victim of a bar room brawl. “Oh dear, what happened here? Why is… why is my big guardian Decay Lord lying on the ground?”
“Um…” Calohxaa hesitated, not wanting to leave a bad impression with this sweet, tiny Life Goddess. She waved her hand, summoning various cleaning instruments, which immediately started tidying the place up. The unconscious Decay Lord was unceremoniously dumped onto a bench to one side. “He… disrespected me. I offered them a drink and they thought I was planning to poison them.” Calohxaa paused again. “Hang on, your little Decay Lord said they were doing some sort of mapping survey!”
Arky giggled as the two Life Goddesses sat down at the freshly cleaned table. “Oh, silly Galyn. He really hates the fact that he works for me and he gets super embarrassed when we get lost! I’ll have to talk to him about being more honest.” The Life Goddesses both laughed a little. “Anyway, what are you doing out here, all on your own?”
Calohxaa’s eyes widened. She was… surprised to hear someone asking about her. “Oh… I am just… taking a break from all the universe stuff. But it gets so lonely out here! I crave visitors. I never get any!”
“You don’t get any?”
Calohxaa thought to herself, trying to remember when she’d last had some. “Most beings just… avoid my castle. If it wasn’t for my constant illusion spells to make it pink and pretty, I’d NEVER get visitors!”
The tiny Life Goddess seemed to frown. “Ah, that sucks. Why not just make the pink clouds real?”
“Ugh, no, pink clouds are SO expensive to maintain!”
“Oh, fair enough. Have you ever thought about getting a Time Drake then? They’re great companions!”
“A Time Drake?” Calohxaa blinked. “I… No, I haven’t, dearie. Aren’t they high maintenance?”
Arky shook her head. “Not at all! They live longer than Decay Lords as well. Better than making your own visitors too, since they leave and come back on the regular without you telling them to! I had one for a bit and he was great.”
Calohxaa crossed her arms, thinking to herself. “That… seems like a great idea, actually. I’ll give that a try!”
“You should! Plus, you can do…” Arky paused, then glanced at her wrist. “Oh no! I kinda really have to go. Those Voidborns get so angry when you’re late!”
“Oh… What are you late for, again?”
“My meeting with the Voidborns…” Arky reminded her.
“That is… a shame…” Calohxaa sighed, snapping her fingers. As she did so, a red and a purple Decay Lord both appeared by the table next to them.
The little Life Goddess got up, also snapping her fingers. “Litvir, Retvik, do me a favour and take Galyn back to my ship. I’ll be with you all in a bit, just need to finish up here first.”
Retvik blinked in confusion, staring at Arky. He then turned to Litvir, looking rather shocked. “Where in the name of the Light did you come from? And where-”
“I will explain when we get back to the ship!” Litvir hissed, doing as the black and yellow deity asked of them. He and Retvik both grabbed one of Galyn’s arms each, then started dragging him out of the room.
Once the Decay Lords were all gone, Arky tuned back to Calohxaa. She pulled a piece of paper out of thin air, scribbled on it with her finger and handed it to the busty, still-nude Life Goddess. “Here’s my number. If you ever get lonely, give me a call, alright?”
Calohxaa smiled. “Thank you, deary. You have a safe trip!”
“Thank you, and you stay safe!” Arky waved as she headed off. “See ya!”
