Shopping Time

“Here is an extra two hundred credits. Spend them on whatever you want, as long as you pick up Arkay and return to the ship when I call you. I am off to have some fun. See you later, kiddos.”

Retvik and Litvir watched almost helplessly as Galyn patted them both on the head, then disappeared inside a bar. It amused Litvir somewhat that the bar was called “The Greasy Brain”, but once that amusement had passed, he and Retvik were somewhat lost.

“So… we just go shopping?” Litvir asked.

“I guess. I made a list of things I might want to buy, so the extra money is nice…” Retvik grunted as he started walking down the main mall strip.

The layout of this shopping mall was rather unusual – all the bars and restaurants were at the front, then there was a long, long line of normal shops, selling all sorts of gear. Everything from snacks to heavy weapons. Behind those were elevators, which led up to a row of hotel rooms and a spa area. At the furthest reaches of the mall were other activities, like an arcade and a skating rink.

“You have a list?” Litvir blinked.

“Yes. It helps me not overspend.”

“On what?”

Retvik turned to Litvir. “Have you… never been shopping before?”

“Not casually, no. I always had someone to buy stuff for me and only ever bought what I needed.”

“You are a sad, strange individual…” Retvik tutted, before continuing onwards. “I think I might browse all the shops first, then backtrack and shop in the ones I fancy. Do you want to tag along, Litvir? Or do you want to do your own thing?”

“I want to see your list first!” Litvir snarled. “What in the Light are you going to be buying?”

The Flamebearer glanced around, then shrugged and pulled out a piece of paper from a pocket on his belt. He handed it to Litvir. “I do not know why you are so curious.”

“Because we… well, we already have everything we need…” Litvir started reading the list. “Uh, Retvik, dear, your list consists of nothing but weaponry and food.”

“Not true, I want to go and buy some nice blankets and pillows too. I might also get a little something for Arkay.”

“Retvik, 70% of this list is various weaponry.”

“So?”

“You are a god of fire, why do you need all these weapons?”

“To channel my fire powers through?” Retvik shrugged. “Like I said, do you wish to come with me as we browse through all the shops? Or do you want to wander around on your own?”

Litvir handed the list back to Retvik, grumbling. “I think exploring on my own will be more fun.”

“You sure?”

“Almost certain…” Litvir grunted. “Might get myself a massage while I am here. Have not had one in a while.”

“Hm, I might do the same, actually, after I have bought what I wanted…” Retvik tucked his list away. “But I will take the time to go through every shop. I have a feeling Galyn will be at the bar for a while.”

Litvir paused, then shrugged. “You have a point. Maybe I will join you for a bit, just to pass the time…”
