The All-Ksa’s Change of Plans

“Vok are talking, you know…”

Kayel paced up and down the throne room, tutting and grunting to himself. He had planned an afternoon off, an afternoon filled with fun and pleasure, but the Ksa of the K, Θ and Ξ-Classes had all arranged a meeting with him, to discuss matters with external races. Especially since he had personally fucked up his meeting with the High General of the Retha a few days ago.

I know, I know!” Kayel snapped. “I know. Stop reminding me.”

Nenth, leader of the Θ-Class Ksa, shrugged, flicking through several sheets of paper, a transcript of the meeting. “Kayel, you don’t know. I don’t know what you were thinking, but did you really think you would be able to seduce the High General like that? Your plan was insane, but if you’d asked me, I could have told you that the High General doesn’t take part in anything like that, and you could have saved us all a few headaches.”

It was worth a shot!” Kayel shouted. “If I can get on his good side…”

You got on his bad side though…” Teekay interrupted. His K-Class were in charge of security and military duties. Teekay himself was known for being incredibly strict. “You went in there and did everything wrong. You have nothing in common with High General Elkay Theanon and have alienated us further! They reached out to us and we took the piss. We have taken five steps back because of this! Or we would have, if it was not for the reason Arksi is here…”

Arksi bowed slightly. He was the leader of the Ξ-Class Ksa. They represented the Skyavok and mainly dealt with external affairs and duties with other races. Most importantly, they represented all Skyavok in the Great Dessaron Arena, a place where conflicts that can’t be settled verbally are instead settled with weapons and strength.

You have some good news, kid?” Kayel asked. “You never come and visit your poor mother, except when it suits you.”

Except when it suits the Skyavok…” Arksi shook his head. “There are multiple ways in, multiple ways around everything. A new avenue just opened up for us.”

How so?”

Arksi smiled, handing a sheet of paper to Kayel. “Youngest sibling Psiksi got a very pleasant message from the remaining members of the Dessaron. They invited him to be their new fourth member.”

You mean an actual Skyavok will be-” Teekay started, only for Kayel to butt in.

Don’t you dare suggest that Arkay-”

He was not a Skyavok!” Teekay shouted back. He had already had enough of Kayel’s mistakes. “Arkay was not a Skyavok, he was some… unknown! He had a surname. He was taller than most Skyavok. And he had no affiliation with the Skyavok what so ever, aside from the fact that he vaguely looked like one of us!”

Nenth raised a hand, suggesting that everyone calm down a little. “It doesn’t matter what the fourth Dessaron was, at the end of the day Arkay was affiliated with us, and now we will have an actual, well-respected Skyavok working alongside the Dessaron. I assume Psiksi accepted the invitation, yes?”

Arksi nodded. “Of course. He just wants confirmation from the All-Ksa first.”

Tell him to do whatever he thinks is best…” Kayel sighed. “That’s a start for us. It will get our foot back in the door. But until then…” Kayel paused, thinking to himself. “I just realised that we’ve been sending the wrong people to speak to the Rethavok. I have nothing in common with both High General Elkay and High General Ver. But yoooooouuuuuuu…”

The All-Ksa pointed at Teekay. Teekay simply tutted. “Yes?”

You. I should send you to speak to the High Generals. You’re a military leader. You automatically earn their respect.”

I have no reason to meet them though.”

Yeah you do. I’ll write a letter and have you deliver it. We’ll tie it into the whole new Fourth Dessaron thing, because they WILL want to meet Psiksi. How does that sound?”

Nenth nodded in agreement, while Arksi just shrugged.

It could work, All-Ksa.”

Kayel clapped his hands together with glee. “Wonderful! Let’s get started…”
