Everything was calm, aside from the nervous breathing, the slightly stressed heartbeats of two armoured giants, who has appeared at the end of the walkway towards the altar. Waiting for them was their darling partner, their voidpriest for today and their witnesses, three of the most powerful beings around. Both Itaviir and Galyn were wearing shimmering white and silver armour with little cosmetic flames.
“Are you ready?” A husky female voice asked. Standing by the grooms was a beautiful star-studded Life Goddess. Phovos had never really shown off her power before, but today, her skin was smooth and perfect and her mane had been replaced with those voidblack flames, full of twinkling stars, her eyes glowed with energy and her dress and long black gloves were nearly as star-filled as her hair.
“We are, yes.”
“Alright. Deep breaths, then follow me.”
Itaviir and Galyn both nodded and did as they were told. The walk down to the altar was done in silence, doubly so since Phovos was ahead of them. But the grooms finally saw their last third, and Vikalos was wearing equally beautiful flame-covered armour. Except his was in black and had actual flames on it.
Phovos stopped briefly. She took Itaviir and stood him on one side, next to Vikalos, then put Galyn on the other, making sure all three of them had a hand on each other’s shoulders, before joining the voidpriest’s side. Retvik was wearing his best gold armour and had his big golden gunstaff, and, for once, didn’t feel overdressed in it.
“Welcome, one and all, all and one, all and three!” Retvik’s voice was loud and booming. “Today, we are permanently binding three spirits in a holy and humble new union. We will bless, cleanse and then bind our three spirits.”
Retvik turned to Phovos, then nodded. Phovos took a small bowl of water, spat in it then created some flowers in the water. Sbe mixed everything together and took the bowl to the voidpriest. Retvik added some his own saliva, heated the water up, mingling the scents of the flowers, then handed it back to Phovos.
With a small kick off the ground, Phovos floated up. She drew a three pointed star in the air, then floated in front of the three witnesses, the Great Blades.
“With my water and my words, I bless you and relieve you from your worries.”
Phovos dipped a finger in the bowl, then drew a three pointed star on each of the Great Blades’s chests with the liquid.
“You are now blessed.”
“Thank you…” the Great Blades replied in unison.
“Do you allow me to cleanse the three spirits from their past sins?”
“We do.”
Phovos smiled, then floated over to the happy throuple-to-be. She dipped her fingers in the water again, then drew three more stars on each partner, on the head, chest and hand.
“With the blessing of the Great Blades, with the blessing of the Mothers of the Golden Paradise, with the blessing of the Final Daughter of the Final Mother, I cleanse you of all past sins, and bless your every step onwards. You are good, pure beings.”
“Thank you…”
Phovos smiled, then returned to Retvik’s side. Retvik smiled as well, then took over.
“Thank you, dear Phovos, the kindest of Life Goddesses. Now, we shall bound our three beloved partners together. Vikalos, Itaviir, Galyn, please, get down on one knee.”
The Tattered Navigators did as asked.
“Vikalos, Firestorm, do you promise to be forever bound to Itaviir, Shatterblade, and Galyn, Leafblade, until the end of time?”
“I do. Forever.”
“Itaviir, Shatterblade, do you promise to be forever bound to Vikalos, Firestorm, and Galyn, Leafblade, until the end of time?”
“I do, and well past the end of time.”
“Galyn, Leafblade do you promise to be forever bound to Vikalos, Firestorm, and Itaviir, Shatterblade, until the end of time?”
“I do, for all eternity.”
“Thank you. Your words have been noted.” Retvik turned to the Great Blades. “Telin, Voidblade, Psehon, Soulblade and Phos, Lightblade, do you three respect and accept this union, until the end of time?”
“Yes.”
“Yes.”
“Yes, of course!”
Retvik nodded.
“Thank you. Please sign your names here.”
The Great Blades did as asked, then stepped back.
“Vikalos, Itaviir, Galyn, please sign your names here.”
The Tattered Navigators did as asked, but after Galyn wrote his name down, he left his hand on the bottom of the sheet of paper. Vikalos then put his hand on top of Galyn’s and Itaviir put his hand on top of Vikalos’s. Itaviir snapped his free hand, and, in it, summoned a very long, very thin blade.
Itaviir raised the blade, then stabbed it through all three of their hands. They let the blood drip and mingle, until it marked the paper. Once the paper was stained, Itaviir removed the blade and unsummoned it. They pulled their hands away, and Galyn applied a salve that immediately healed the wounds.
Retvik took the form, then signed it himself.
“Are we married now?” Galyn whispered.
“Not quite. Phovos, please.”
Phovos grinned, then floated up and put a hand on Itaviir and Galyn’s heads.
“You have proven yourselves above all else. You have made your mark on the periuniveral void. By the power of the Mothers, by my holy words, I pronounce your new names, Kenokton.”
Phovos booped the two Beh’ens and stepped back to let Retvik take over.
“Vikalos Kenokton, Itaviir Kenokton, Galyn Kenokton, I pronounce you all forever partners, bound in eternity.”
“You… you got us… We… we are…” Galyn was struggling for words. “You… gave us a surname?”
“Yes. You are whole, accepted and bound!” Retvik grinned. “We accept your new name. Right, my dear blades?”
Lightblade nodded. “We do. You are no longer exiled, Leafblade. Neither are you, Shatterblade.”
Retvik nodded back. “Thank you, Phos. Also, more importantly, Vikalos, Itaviir, Galyn, you three are now married! You may embrace and kiss each other. You are now forever bound by light, life and the eternal void.”
Itaviir and Galyn both wiped stray tears from their eyes and wrapped their arms around Vikalos.
“We did it…” Galyn quietly sobbed.
“We did…” Vikalos patted his partners on the back. “I love you both so much…”
“We love you too…”
