The Kinision Quartz Theory, often shortened to “Kinisi Quartz”, is a simple colour and gemstone based philosophy, teaching the importance of looking after oneself and keeping spirits high. Colourful gemstones, all made up from quartz, allow the follower to focus on themselves.
The standard practice of Kinisi Quartz involves sitting outdoors, holding gems and then quietly thinking about the world around them and how the world affects one’s feelings. Negative feelings are allowed to flow freely, before being expelled by self-improving thoughts. During this time, the user will gently play with their quartz gems, channelling good thoughts into the mind. As meditation carries on, a user will fall into a trance, taking a very quick nap before waking up and returning to their day. Meditation is generally done daily, before one goes to sleep, but meditation can be done at any point of the day, regardless of location.
Group meditation is common with Kinisi Quartz, and it is generally expected to speak with other practitioners, to compare thoughts and feelings after a meditation session. Groups also often gather to a single household, where they will meditate, followed by a simple meal and drinks.
Another part of Kinisis Quartz is taking the time to personalize one’s own set of quartz gems. Making leather pouches, jewellery and accessories are all common, and these are often handed down to newer members who might not have discovered their perfect set yet. It is traditional to offer uncut gems to a believer, with which they may fashion into new quartz sets.
Each colour is used to concentrate on various different types of self-care, where the user can focus on what they feel they are lacking. Quartz stones are normally used for focus in meditation and relaxation, but other materials, such as coloured glass beads, are easily substituted if quartz gemstones are unavailable.
Purple – Self-Care – the act of keeping oneself in good condition, well fed, well bathed and well dressed.
Pink – Self-Love – the act of sexual pleasure and discovery, as well as sharing said love with other beings.
Red – Self-Protection – the act of deflecting harm from oneself, avoiding the dangers of the multiverse, no matter what they are.
Yellow – Self-Control – the act of keeping calm and thinking before acting, and not allowing emotions to overflow one’s mind.
Green – Self-Healing – the act of closing wounds, both mental and physical, and tending to the mind and body as they slowly heal.
Blue – Self-Respect – the act of understanding that one is a good being, despite their potential problems and flaws, as well as understanding that change occasionally needs to be made.
While the base types of self-care are matched with their respective colours, there is no universal set of colours that one must adhere to. As long as the colour of one’s gems are close to the six main quartz colours, they are deemed acceptable for use.
There is also a final colour, White or Clear, which is generally used alongside a main colour quartz. It is believed that clear quartz will suck up negative emotions and feelings, making it easier to meditate and focus on one’s self. Clear quartz gems are not permanent and are boiled after their use to keep bad thoughts at bay.
