Lonely Epani

Epani never liked visiting the crystalline sky temple. She didn’t like leaving the safety of her lovely, adopted universe, to visit the place where all the ‘time stuff’ happened. But that was where Epani was going, because she needed to talk to Yisini and that was where Yisini had been for the last 96 hours.

The temple though had changed over the last few years. What had once been designed to fit a massive dragon had been restructured to better match the smaller universe it looked over, as well as its much smaller time god. The whole place was also a massive maze of rooms, many of which were filled with vast feasts, vats of alcohol or unspeakable toys.

Finally, Epani reach the central hall, which was overflowing with fancy cushions and pillows. Lounging in the middle of it all was one very naked serpent being and some semi-naked bird-like being.

“Yisini, we need to talk.”

A head popped up from out of the cushions. Yisini was as beautiful, sexy and naked as always, but her appearance had become sharper over the last few months, due to her taking over time as part of her duties. In her hands was a yellow book, titled “How to be a Time God for Dummies”.

“Sure, what’s up, Epani?”

“First off, what are you doing?”

Elksia, the bird-like being, also poked her head out from the sea of luxury. “We’re learning! Turns out, time’s kinda complicated to manage!”

Epani grunted. “That brings me on to my second question. Why are you naked and why is Elksia… I do not want to say “naked” but she is clearly not wearing any clothes or armour.”

Yisini glanced at Elksia, then put her book down and slithered over to where Epani was floating.

“What’s wrong, Epani? Are you lonely or something?”

“Yes, a little.” Epani twitched nervously. “You spend all your time up here studying and I miss you.”

“You miss me?”

“Yes.”

“Really?”

“Yes.”

Yisini shrugged, then sighed. “What do you want me to do then? I come up here so I can practice and test stuff in my own safe space, I don’t want to bring this stuff closer to you where I might hurt you or break something.”

“I would like it if you… worked a little less…” Epani admitted. “You have been up here constantly.”

“Uh, sorry to interrupt…” Elksia interrupted. “But… I ain’t the problem, am I?”

Epani turned to Elksia and shook her head. “No, no. You are just learning and only here briefly. Although I still do not know why you’re naked.”

“Oh, it’s just, well, really hot in here…” Elksia admitted. “And I dunno how to turn down the thermostat thingy…”

“It’s literally just…” Yisini tutted, then changed her tune, not wanting any conflict. “Alright, I’ll work something out. I should be in-universe a lot more anyway, been totally neglecting my not-really Goddess of Life stuff anyway.”

Epani thought to herself for a moment, then looked back at Yisini. “Are you… still upset that I became a Life Goddess and you did not?”

“Well… yeah, obviously…”

With a frown, Epani hovered over to Yisini and hugged her tight. “We will have to work on that then. There must be some way to make you into a Life Goddess…”
