Slightly Grumpy Conclusion

“Is everything sorted?” Arkay asked as he, Retvik and Litvir wandered through the Shimmering Blade, before making it back to their ship. Admittedly, Arkay had wanted to take Litvir’s ship, Souldrainer’s Plight, but since they were on official Missing work, they’d had to take the Deathly Soulflame. But their mission was pretty much over now, the Great Blades and the Phantai in general were fine again, and the Missing could leave now.

“Hmph. I assume so.”

Litvir seemed annoyed, potentially even angry. Arkay couldn’t quite place Retvik’s mood, but he was definitely walking a little oddly. Arkay decided to address Litvir first as he unlocked the ship and nudged his partners inside.

“What’s wrong, Litvir?”

Litvir growled some more. “This was all stupid. They should have told us from the bloody start that there was some sort of foreign device on their ship that was potentially messing with everyone’s emotions.”

“Was it a Voidborn device?” Retvik asked.

“I do not know, I do not care and I do not want to think about it. Not any more, at least…” Litvir calmed down a little, not wanting to take out his anger on Arkay or Retvik. “I think I am more angry that, despite being a psionic mastermind, I am certain that device affected me a little. But Arkay, you seemed perfectly fine, when the Loopblades were all over the place.”

Arkay shook his head as he sat Litvir and Retvik down, then got to work getting the ship moving. “It affected me a little bit. But, and this is somewhat depressing, I am so used to my own self-loathing that adding a bunch more self-loathing didn’t affect me that much. What did you get hit with, Retvik?”

Retvik grunted, shifting his weight slightly. “I was hit by the increased sexual desires.”

“Badly…” Litvir grunted.

“Well, yes. But, well… I can see why you enjoyed sleeping with Thyel. That was… well… Phos definitely delivered on his promise.”

Arkay blinked, then turned to Retvik. “What… what did that Lightblade guy promise you?”

“One of the best rides of my life.”

“You enjoyed sleeping with Phos THAT much?” Litvir seemed a little deflated by Retvik’s comment.

“Admittedly, yes. I do not know if it was because we were both affected by the strange device, but, well, Phos is both very well-endowed and very good at knowing how to pleasure someone. To make matters worse, it reminded me of my time with Gath. He did to me what Gath used to do to me. And I feel awkward about that… I also feel… a little stretched.”

“What… what do you mean by that?” Litvir was getting more and more deflated. “Is Phos really… that good?”

Retvik grunted and turned to Litvir. “You seem upset.”

“I… I do not want to disappoint you. I am… not exactly skilled, sexually. And I am not well-endowed.”

“You are fine, Litvir. You never disappoint me. I am just a little… bewildered by my experiences. And sore. The time I spent with Phos was nice, but there is no way I could… withstand that on the regular…” Retvik trailed off, then sniffed his breath. “I am also pretty damn drunk. It seems that, when I am drunk, I am a much hornier person and far more willing to do things.”

Retvik paused again, then realised the ship was definitely moving. Somehow, he’d missed Arkay getting the ship airborne and out of the Shimmering Blade, sailing off into clear voidspace.

“I think I am still drunk.”

Litvir shrugged. “You are not alone there. While you were busy being railed and being a complete bitch, I did all the work and then sat down and got drunk with Psehon.”

“Did you sleep with him?” Retvik grunted.

“No.”

“How comes?”

“No desire to do so. Plus, I have already made Psehon bend over for me once. I have no need to do so a second time. That and I am drunk right now and I am not a fan of sex while drunk.”

Arkay and Retvik both shrugged in vague agreement.

“Fair enough…” Arkay smiled a little. “I think though, this is like, the first time where things went kinda bad for you two, but didn’t go absolutely awful for me. I had a genuinely nice time sitting with Telin, helping him get over his problems and just having a few nice, warm hugs with him, before taking a lovely nap.”

“You… had a nap?” Retvik asked.

“Yeah. Sometimes, when you’re utterly depressed, having a nap is a good way to make yourself feel better. Going for a walk does more, but that ship isn’t a fun place to walk. Too grey and miserable. But, like we always do, we fixed everything, so things will go back to normal for them. And I hope Telin accepts my suggestion of maybe painting a few walls to make things slightly less bleak.”

“That would help with the overall mood, yes…” Litvir grunted. He was still drunk and still a bit upset. “At least everything is fixed now, I guess.”

“Yep!” Arkay smiled some more. “Anyway, we finished the mission with time to spare, what do you want to do now?”

“I thought we needed to report back to Deathven?” Retvik grunted. “Or something? I am still quite drunk. And I cannot remember the name of the mead that Phos and I had.”

“Nah, that Kengana guy can do that reporting. And I’m sure the blade guys will also send a report or whatever…” Arkay thought for a moment. “Well, since we said we were going to that space small, do you two still want to go? We can go to that nice space seafood restaurant or something. And maybe look for that mead Retvik had.”

Litvir and Retvik both glanced at each other, then smiled alongside Arkay.

“That sounds like a lovely idea.”

“Cool!” Arkay beamed as he set the coordinates and got the ship moving properly. “Let’s treat ourselves for a mission well done.”
