Adventures in the Space Between Universes
Arkay “Damn. He’s busy again…” Arkay was supposed to be working, but he was in the middle of a work break, and had gone outside for a little fresh air. Technically, he wasn’t outside, he was sitting in a room that simulated a peaceful garden, and being outside was somewhat impossible on a Deathven ship, due … Read more
“Tenuk, Elksi! We heard explosions, is everything-” Retvik did not have a chance to finish his sentence. Neither did he want to. What was once a fancy, gold-trimmed hall was now utterly stained by blood, brains and shards of skull. In the centre of the room was a large, shimmering sphere, which was slowly dissolving. … Read more
“Another one, seriously?” Phovos sighed as she wiped golden blood off the head of her axe. “Another one, unfortunately, Phovos…” Retvik also sighed. The pair of heroes were in the middle of cleaning themselves up after a battle with far too many gilded beasts, all sent to kill them. “I don’t get why they bother!” … Read more
“Why have we stopped?” Phovos asked as she peered through the window. Outside was a very small planetoid, covered in pink grass, which the ship was currently anchored to. Aside from the grass though, there was little else to see, just the odd patch of dirt, and a couple of puddles. Amazingly, there was also … Read more
Phovos shuddered as she wrapped her blanket tighter around herself. The weather outside was horrible, with violent radioactive storms rattling at the ship’s windows. While Phovos had definitely slept in more horrid places, something about the storm outside was bothering her. While she was sleeping in a climate-controlled room, Phovos found herself unable to sleep … Read more
“Wait, which one of us is the scary one?” Tenuk asked as he read the sign on the door. “It says only our most ferocious member can enter.” The Dessaron glanced at each other, all shrugging and unsure. “Maybe we should vote?” Phovos suggested. “Sure thing!” Elksi giggled. “I vote for Phovos!” Tenuk nodded his … Read more
Arkay yawned and stretched his arms out as he woke up from his sleep. It took a moment for him to notice his surroundings, and for a second, he wasn’t sure where he was. But the little beam of light coming from the window swiftly reminded Arkay where he was. He was in his boyfriend’s … Read more
Arkay groaned as he slipped from the sofa onto the floor, taking a moment to see what had been done. He had spent the last week slowly moving gear back and forth. Thankfully, he was still in one piece, although his lower back was quite sore, just above where his lower body armour ended. “You … Read more
Arkay muttered to himself as he wandered the overly large supermarket. He was listening to some music on a small audio player, which was connected to the headphones he was wearing. As to what Arkay actually wanted to buy, he wasn’t particularly sure. There was a shopping list in front of him, but Arkay wasn’t … Read more
“You know we have teleporters, right?” Kallis watched as Arkay lumbered back and forth, moving boxed belongings out of one room and into another, before haphazardly putting boxes onto a flat base with wheels on each of the corners. Outside, a small personal vehicle was waiting, with the boot already half-full with boxes. “I don’t … Read more
Arkay let out a long, satisfied sigh as he stretched out on the bed. That particular bed didn’t belong to Arkay, it was a spare one in Velas’s spare room. Most people would find that a biy weird, but Arkay didn’t mind. After all, Arkay had a habit of moaning really loudly at night. Either … Read more
“So let me get this straight. We came here to kill this slaver, free all these thropic demigods and then take that massive crystal up there?” “Seems like it, Phovos…” Retvik grunted, tapping his long, flaming sword against the large, winged, multi-eyed creature that was lying lifeless on the ground in front of them, dressed … Read more
“Are you alright, dear?” Phovos snapped back into reality as Retvik opened the door to his room. “Yeah… I’m fine…” Retvik didn’t believe Phovos, but decided not to fight back. After all, she was clearly in a world of her own. “Do you want to come in?” “Uh… Yeah, I guess…” Phovos quietly stepped inside … Read more
“So what is it that makes you like him?” “What do you mean?” Arkay sprawled himself across the sofa, feeling rather tired after a morning of cleaning. Kalis on the other hand was clearly procrastinating, not wanting to get started on his chores. “Well, there must be something that draws you in!” Kalis smiled, pushing … Read more
“Boss, you there?” Galyn picked up his communicator. “I am here. Is everything well, Elksi?” “Yep! We just finished! The bug problem has been eradicated. Can we come back? Or is there more you need us to do out here?” “I have no open tasks for you, so you are free to return, if you … Read more
