Adventures in the Space Between Universes
Tromos had expected this match to be not so difficult, but Retvik was kicking the crap out of him. Sure, Tromos didn’t think his chances of winning were amazing (bookies were saying a 40% chance), but as Retvik picked Tromos up by the neck and threw him across the arena, a quick glance at Tromos’s … Read more
Aesop shrank in his seat, as the rest of the Torrian Parliament got up and started filing out. Panos, the Prime Minister, gave Aesop a disgruntled and annoyed glare, then headed out himself. Before long, pretty much everyone was gone, going back to their normal businesses. Probably insider trading or gambling or something. Admittedly, in … Read more
Kairos snarled as he pressed a crystalline shield against the colossal tear across the edge of the universe. He had thankfully predicted that the vast Corruption would attack at this specific point, but that didn’t make the ordeal any better. Worse, he had underestimated the sheer size of this Corruption. It was… huge. So huge … Read more
Atuho, the Imperator of the Vast Sands, wasn’t normally considered a particularly menacing Lanex. If anything, most people thought Atuho was a little too friendly. Which was why he dealt with external affairs, and problems with other races. Most Lanex didn’t quite mesh socially with the rest of the Twelve, and a lot of folks … Read more
“Dude, you were so awesome!” Abius didn’t expect to have fans waiting for them as they plodded out of the Dasoudi Arena, utterly covered in blood, but right now, they had four fans, one of whom handed Abius a towel so they could wipe their face down. “You were great, Abius!” Retvik beamed as he … Read more
“Advisor Phovoula, thank you for coming on such short notice!” Skiavor, a black-furred Ksithan with equally dark eyes, smiled as the Raptor climbed up the stairs to the Grand Hall of the Twelve. The Ksithans weren’t quite as democratic as other species. They were ruled over by the Tromeros family, a large, powerful heritage with … Read more
“I cannot believe Rethais keeps on letting me take time off…” Relkir muttered as they stepped off the plane behind their poten-partner. Both ahead and behind Relkir and Gath were a handful of members of the 1000th Legion, and two of Gath’s captains. “It is not time off. You are a captain now, silly!” Gath … Read more
“We need to call home.” Aster rarely argued with his superiors. In fact, he was normally one of the calmer and more law-abiding Crown Guides of the Perpetual Abyss. The Lanexian outcasts, who fervently worshipped the Panelix above all else, were well organized and well armed, and they kept to themselves, hoping to one … Read more
“Well, I think we all had dates yesterday!” Nyssi laughed as she headed downstairs, where Retvik was lying dozily on the sofa, and Tenuk was eating a bowl of porridge and honey. Kayel was sitting in the kitchen, switching between his communicator and a yellow, portable games console. “I wouldn’t call my regular meetings with … Read more
“What the fuck, Arkay?” Epani stood up from her red and gold throne as Arkay teleported into the main hall at the castle at the centre of the universe and sat down on his own throne, a massive black bean bag. “What?” “You… You…” Epani grunted, then turned to Sini. “Can I swear at him, … Read more
“Retvik, dear, I need you, right now.” Retvik had just gotten back home from work alongside his friends. As always, he had plodded upstairs to take his armour off. But he didn’t expect to find Kuta lying on his bed. Even more unusually, Kuta was wearing almost nothing, just a loin cloth. “Hello, Kuta!” Retvik … Read more
“Uh, I take it you all got the message as well?” Kayel felt rather awkward as he stepped into the large, darkened hall. He thought he’d arrived ten minutes early, but, somehow, he was the last person to arrive. Also present in the room were 18 other Skyavok, every single shadowjumper in the regions of … Read more
Elkay groaned to himself as he turned over inside the glass observation and quarantine cell he as sleeping in. Just outside the cell, his husband was arguing with someone, probably one of Kal, but Elkay didn’t particularly care right now. “I NEED to comfort him! I need to help him! He needs my embrace, so … Read more
Rethais did their best not to growl as they slammed the door to their private office shut, then made their way to a simple desk. The High General normally did meetings in the Grand Hall of the Kentron, a colossal room with a massive glass wall that overlooked the city of Phos. But this was … Read more
They were not falling. They should have fallen already. The Ancient Feeder had rained down His droplets across the small, floating island, the place harbouring those that went against the Great Unending Ancient One’s Will, that denied The Natural Laws, but those spores were being both burnt and washed away. The Ancient Feeder had spawned … Read more
