“Dear, stop, stop…”
Teekay was having the time of his life. It had been a while since he and Elkay had made out, and was enjoying licking Elkay’s neck, one of his few sensitive stops.
“Teekay, stop.”
Doing as he was told, Teekay stopped licking then looked up. “Why, what’s going on… Oh.”
Teekat finally clicked on what was going on, then immediately rolled off Elkay, taking a silk sheet with him.
“Excuse us, Lady Kinisis, we are… a tad busy…” Elkay frowned as he sat up, pulling up another sheet to cover himself a little. Annoyingly, Kinisis seemed not at all bothered that she’d teleported herself into the one place where Elkay had felt safe to expose himself.
“I know, and I apologise, little ones, but you two are a bit late.”
Teekay reached over to the other side of the bed, where he had left his wristbands.
“We’re not late!” Teekay snapped, wrapping his stomach cloths around himself. “We have half an hour before the group meeting!”
Elkay grabbed his own wristbands, confirming Teekay’s statement. “Indeed. We still have time.”
“You don’t.”
Kinisis sat down on the edge of the bed, ignoring the state that Teekay and Elkay were in.
“I am shuffling my dear Guardians around and left you two until last. Because I have an assignment for you both.”
Teekay rolled his eyes. Elkay tutted. Neither of them were happy.
“Is it something that can wait?” Elkay asked. “I do not understand why you need to interrupt us. Especially now.”
The Allmaker shrugged, sitting on the edge of the bed. “Not really. I need you both for a rather… sneaky task.”
“And that is?”
Kinisis turned around to properly face both Elkay and Teekay. “The plan is to spit you six up into smaller teams. More coverage is always good. But I also need someone to assist ‘upstairs’. Where we are keeping my Oasis. Currently, I have a small group of Decay Lords helping me out. However, I have a desire to put some of my own Guardians up there.”
“Why?” Teekay blinked in confusion. “And why are you telling us right at this very moment?”
“Could it not have waited until the main meeting?” Elkay added. “You are acting as if you have some sort of dirty secret to hide.”
The Allmaker grunted. “It’s not so much a secret, more to keep an eye on things. The Decay Lords are trustworthy but I cannot guarantee that 24/7 to my kids.”
“But, like, surely there-”
“You two are the best choice. By a mile. The Decay Lords up there are Rethavok-shaped. And one of them is related to you, Elkay. While your working up there will be seen as a useful, helpful addition to their work, you will also begin to document what they may be planning themselves.”
Elkay hissed, not at all amused by Kinisis’s words. “You want us to spy on these Decay Lords. I do not want to do that. ESPECIALLY towards Retvik.”
Kinisis sighed, then got up. “Alright, fine, I won’t make you spy on them. But you two will be going up there, no matter what. You are needed and you will fit in. I just want more of my own guards in my own oasis. Is that too much to ask?”
Teekay glanced at Elkay. “I suppose we could do with a break from here…”
Elkay’s response though was somewhat cold. “That does seem nice, but I want no part in any of this espionage. We go there, we do our job and that is it.”
Kinisis appeared to smile. “So you two will go?”
“Yes, but with no espionage.”
“Done!” Kinsis smiled some more, getting up off the bed. “I request that you both be ready to head off in 24 hours. Basic gear and weapons, most other things will be provided by the Decay Lords. I shall leave you two to pack.”
The Allmaker waved one last time, then disappeared.
“That is… annoying…” Elkay eventually muttered.
“Eh, it’ll be a change of pace,” Teekay shrugged. “Plus, we might end up with more time alone. And that is always a good thing.”
“True, true…” Elkay climbed out of bed. “Let us get ready then. The quicker we go, the better…”
