The Thantir Three landed with a bit of a crunch back at Savepoint, as one of the landing stabilizers had always been a bit funny. But as it did so, a crowd had gathered. Everyone knew that part of the trip was intended to buy stuff for the upcoming wedding, so folks had headed over to help with unloading. Not that they really needed help, since Arkay and Litvir could both move stuff with their minds, but some of the shopping was awkward in size.
“I suppose, at least you three get that good Sect Trio income!” Saahro teased slightly. He’d dragged over a wheeled shopping trolley. No one knew where the trolley had come from, they had just found it alongside two other trolleys in the bottom of Savepoint’s lake. That trolley had been removed and was still useful, the third trolley was partially damaged and these days just mostly got used by the Vohra and their bricky toys, but the third one, altering, shifting or removing it seemed to do something weird to the colour of the water, so everyone just decided to leave it as it was.
“Oh, we are admittedly spending more than we should!” Vikalos smiled a little too much. “But it’s worth it! We are going to have the best wedding.”
“Better than my wedding?” Ret hesitantly asked. He and the Dessaron Kids had returned to Savepoint for a few days, and Elkay, Teekay and six out of seven of the Decaylings had gone to the Pink Paradise for a change of scenery. Only Ret and Nyssi though had turned up to help move things.
“Hah, loaded question!” Nyssi giggled. “Ret, your wedding was your best wedding. Vikalos’s wedding is his best wedding!”
Ret swiftly accepted that answer. “Fair enough. So, what do you need moving?”
“A lot!” Vikalos moved to the back of the ship and opened up the cargo bay doors. There was a wall of boxes that blocked the door and the rest of the (admittedly small) cargo bay.
“We… went a little overboard…” Galyn admitted. “But Itaviir had a really nice idea that we get everything in white, the colour of purity and love, and in paper as well, for easy disposal in a massive post-wedding bonfire.”
“Hang on!” Nyssi butted in. “WHITE is the colour of love for you?”
Itaviir and Galyn both looked at each other, shrugged, then pointed at Vikalos. “Vikalos wanted everything to be royal blue, as that was the colour of love in his universe. We are all from different cultures and different places, so we will get weird things like that. Apparently in Saahro’s universe, it was brown.”
“Brown?”
Saahro, who had just arrived, blinked in confusion. “What’s wrong with brown? Brown is the greatest colour, the combination of all other colours! Anyway, do you guys need help or am I here for no reason?”
“Nyssi, I already told you that Rethans like white and pink as our colours of love…” Ret muttered. “You prefer red instead.”
“Yeah, I guess. But why the hell did Vikalos have blue in his universe?”
Vikalos also shrugged. “Our goddess of love was royal blue. That was just how things were. But yes, we did go completely overboard, hence why there is a whole box filled with paper roses and three boxes of paper cups in various sizes. We also have paper plates, paper decorations and a large wooden arch that I bought, which we are going to decorate with the tons of paper flowers we bought.”
“We also found large paper bowls for food!” Galyn added. “Pretty much everything we bought can be thrown into a pile and burnt! Anyway, us three have things to discuss.”
“And we are dragging Saahro along as well!” Vikalos added.
“Why?”
“We want your assistance on something.”
“Like what?”
“Fires. And spicy food.”
“Oh?” Saahro exclaimed. “You want me to make my Super Amazing Spicy Mince Mess?”
Vikalos nodded. “Indeed. We need to talk logistics and quantities.”
“Well, alright! Lead the way!”
Vikalos stomped off, dragging his partners with them, leading Saahro off to the canteen.
“They seem amazingly happy…” Retvik grunted as he watched the oldest members of the Thantir mess around in the distance.
“Are you complaining, dear?” Litvir asked.
“Oh, no, not at all. If anything, it is genuinely nice seeing how revitalized they are. Especially since, when we first met them, Itaviir and Vikalos seemed to be in a permanently bad mood, and we hardly saw Galyn until the Thantir were essentially taken apart. All three of them were genuinely happy the moment we got off the Shimmering Blade.”
“What is the Shimmering Blade?” Nyssi asked. “Sounds cool. Also, you didn’t tell us where you all went and what we’re going to do with all this stuff that Ret has already started unloading and taking to the storage areas. In fact, I ain’t even exactly useful here, Ret has gravity powers and is doing it easily.”
“Sometimes, we just like your presence!” Litvir smiled. “Also, you are somewhat covering up Retvik’s thoughts about us getting married, which is not happening.”
“It might be cute!” Retvik grunted. “It might be nice.”
“I do not want to get married. Who would even marry us anyway? Also, we are a Hidden Trio, we are technically MORE than married!”
Nyssi glanced at Litvir and Retvik, then glanced at Arkay, who had forgotten he was present and was helping Ret organize things. “Maybe it’s just not time yet. You guys though, you’ve got, like, forever to sort yourselves out. Maybe, when you’ve been together for a really fucking long time, same way the big bear and his armoured partners have, Litvir will change his mind.”
“I doubt it!” Litvir tutted.
“You never know!” Nyssi smiled. “Anyway, do you need me here?”
Litvir grunted, but quickly settled down. “It turns out, we did not need you. However, I did want to speak briefly with Kayel, do you know where he is?”
Nyssi closed her eyes and scanned the area briefly. “He’s free right now. Want me to take you to him?”
“I would appreciate that.”
“Why do you need to speak to Kayel?” Retvik queried.
Litvir gestured at Arkay. Retvik thought for a moment, then suddenly understood via a telepathic message.
“Ah, alright. I shall assist Arkay and Ret in the mean time then. We have a LOT to unpack…”
