“Hello again, Missing.”
Retvik, Litvir and Arkay were used to Deathven’s random teleports now. There was always an odd tingle to them, that gave them a second to ready themselves. Didn’t quite give them enough time to put clothes on though, as it had been technically night time at Save Point and they’d been lying in bed.
“Hi, Deathven, you do realise we have communicators you can call, yes?” Arkay was annoyed. This was the second time he’d been teleported out of bed while wearing very little.
“I do, yes, but this is urgent.”
Litvir picked up a stray thought. “Very urgent?”
“Indeed. Very, very urgent. And I hope that your adaptability will allow you to solve this conundrum with swiftness and hopefully not too much blood.”
Arkay crossed his arms and tutted, but quickly relented. Mostly because Litvir seemed concerned. “Alright, fine. What’s the problem?”
“An unknown group of Voidborns is threatening a Decay Lord sect known as the Kathar. The Kathar are a purification sect similar to your Thantir. They are normally guarded by another, larger sect called the Vraseer, but the Vraseer are a Voidborn eradicator sect and these Voidborns have attacked both, feeling threatened themselves as they move into the areas the Vraseer have cleansed of more aggressive Voidborns. However, these unknown Voidborns do not seem to speak normal Decayon languages, and we need a translator to step in and try and talk the unknown Voidborns down before they harm a harmless sect.”
“Well… alright…” Arkay frowned. “I guess we ought to get going straight away! Is there anything important we need to know about these Voidborns?”
“We know very little about them. The Vraseer reported that they were pushed out of another pentacluster and are entering the Yililiac Sea from the unnamed pentacluster and eniapent next door. We do not know what is pushing them out though, and the Vraseer and the Kathar believe another Voidborn cult is doing so.
“Either way, these unknown Voidborns need to be dealt with, and hopefully in a peaceful manner. I want you to talk them into leaving peacefully or at the very least settling down on the very edges of the Yililiac Sea, away from my sects. That being said, I am more concerned about the Kathar, and any threat to them NEEDS to be dealt with. I am not risking a large purification sect getting harmed.”
Retvik grunted. “You do not have the same concern for the Thantir.”
“Your sect only recently got into purifications. Now they do a much more useful job, I care more, if I am blunt. The Kathar on the other hand are one of the first purification sects, they are utterly ancient and are definitely at risk right now.”
“What about the Vraseer?” Litvir asked. “Why are they not helping?”
“I do not want to provoke these unknown Voidborns any further. They already are concerned and have already clashed with Vraseer boarder patrol ships and, worse, the Vraseer fired first, believing the unknown Voidborns to be related to the Golden Halberds that used to… taint the pentacluster. Considering you can speak Kenosomilia, Deathbringer, I believe you can help settle the situation down before anyone else gets hurt.”
Arkay seemed a little hesitant. “My Kenosomilia isn’t that good though, and I apparently have a regional accent.”
“It does not matter. You can communicate with them. You can make yourself more like them. Few other Decay Lords can. Hidden Trios are not just mercenaries, you are peace workers too, and right now, you are my best chance at fixing this problem quickly and hopefully bloodlessly.”
“Alright, fine. But you’re going to have to teleport us back home quickly so we can put our armour back on and grab our weapons. Also you’ll need to set up our navigation so we can get there nice and quickly… wherever there is.”
Retvik nodded in agreement. “Indeed. We will do as you requested but we need to prepare ourselves too, in case these Voidborns become aggressive. Is there anything else we need to know about the… uh… this pentacluster before we arrive?”
Deathven thought for a moment, then snapped his fingers, summoning several sheets of paper, which he handed to Retvik. “The Yililiac Sea is within the Vastskota Eniapent. It is a very, very dark eniapent, far darker than most. Not because it is empty, but because it is full of smothering dust that blocks out the light of any rogue stars in the area, and these clouds also surround most of the universes present. You will need to travel slowly.”
“And has a meeting area been arranged with these unknown Voidborns?” Litvir asked. “Or are we making first contact in order to arrange a meeting? Also, will the Golden Halberds or the two sects be bothering us?”
Deathven shook his head. “You will be making proper contact with the Voidborns first, to arrange a meeting between them and the Kathar and Vraseer. In your folder, I have given you the name of several contacts in both sects, who will assist you in the meeting. The Vraseer will want the Voidborns removed from the area completely, but the Kathar are more open like you Thantir, and may not have a problem allowing the unknown Voidborns to shelter in the Yililiac Sea before they move on elsewhere. If you can get the Voidborns to leave, that would be the best course of action, but they may want to stick around, especially if they have been pushed out from elsewhere.”
“We will see what we can do!” Litvir smiled. “At the very least, we will get the conversation going. I am sure all sides will be reasonable once we have talked things through.”
“I appreciate your enthusiasm, Souldrainer. I have faith in you, Missing. Go home, suit up, then send me a message and I will send you to where you need to go.”
Deathven snapped his fingers, and Retvik, Litvir and Arkay reappeared back in Savepoint. In the middle of the main area, still mostly undressed.
“He could have at least teleported us back to our bedrooms…” Arkay tutted. “Anyway, let’s get sorted. We have work to do.”
