Alternate Stag Do

“So, do you actually want a stag do?”

Galyn and Itaviir glanced at Retvik and Litvir, who had been following them around as they greeted arrivals. Most of the bigger arrivals had already arrived and most of them were sitting around on the beach, enjoying the scenery, which was very different from where they had all come from. The vast majority of the void didn’t have an entire lake, and the waters were particularly crisp today.

“A stag do?” Itaviir asked. “Wait, was that what we did with Elkay and Teekay?”
Retvik nodded. “Yes. Us Rethans normally call them Singles Parties. You three all joined Teekay’s stag do and we just drank and chatted for hours. It was actually a rather tame stag do, and we did not do anything silly or Kronospast-y.”

Itaviir was now more confused. “What do you mean by that?”

“Apparently they hire prostitutes and take lots and lots of drugs!” Litvir exclaimed, before pausing. “Sorry, dear. Accidentally read your mind.”

Retvik shrugged. “It is fine, Litvir. But yes, Itaviir, Galyn, do you want to celebrate your last few days of not being married?”

Itaviir was now visually confused. He was scratching his head in confusion. “Why do I not remember this thing we did for Teekay and Elkay and why would I want to celebrate not being married?”

“To be fair, it was literally two year-strings ago…” Galyn muttered. “But I also do not really care for a stag do. I see no point in it. I don’t want to celebrate being single because the idea of being single reminds me of when it was just me, Retvik, Litvir and Arkay all alone out here. And those were not fun times.”

“Oh…” Retvik frowned. “Were we really that much of a burden to you?”

“No, please do not think you are burdens!” Galyn exclaimed. “It was more just that the void really wanted us dead. Theocydes tried to kill us, that big fluffy Life Goddess tried to kill me and those damn slavers tried to kill my mind and strip me of what little personality I had at the time. You three did nothing wrong…” Galyn suddenly paused. “You know what? I do not want a celebration of me and Itaviir being single. Itaviir is right.”

“I am, yes, but you have another idea?” Itaviir queried.

“Well, firstly, I think having Vikalos have a… a girls’ night would be funny, but I think there is something more important to celebrate for us. And that is how these two here got us back together.”

“Pardon me,” Litvir interrupted. “You said two. Not three.”

“Well, we did also cause them to split up for a bit, before Galyn’s misadventures with us…” Retvik admitted. “Also Arkay did not really have a hand in getting these three back together.”

Litvir eyed Retvik. “If we are going to be pedantic, then technically Ahkron and Kinisis got these three back together. Because we only called Vikalos because we had no clue with how to deal with a, and I am putting this politely, a very fucked up Galyn.”

“You get what I mean though!” Retvik tutted. “Arkay barely remembered Itaviir until he returned to us.”

Litvir raised his finger to make a counter argument but quickly realised he didn’t have one. “Alright, fair enough. But I think a party for us is silly. We did not really bring you guys back together in a good way. You three did all the work. Also… why do you want Vikalos to do the… the female singles party, and am I invited?”

“Tell you what!” Retvik smiled as he patted Litvir on the shoulder. “You arrange a, uh, female night for Vikalos, and I shall arrange something for Itaviir and Galyn…” Retvik trailer off, then shook his head. He had suddenly thought of something. “Actually… there are three of them. So their parties should be separate.”

“Three parties?” Galyn blinked. “That is silly.”

“This whole thing is silly…” Itaviir muttered.

Litvir inspected Itaviir. “You are very nervous.”

“I… I am, yes. There are… some very important people here. We have a lot going on here. I am… scared of things going wrong.”

Retvik grunted. “I understand, Itaviir, but you do not need to worry! You know we will make sure everything runs smoothly!”

“I know, I know. It is just… sometimes I look around and sort of realise what is happening and it is so… strange…” Itaviir turned to Galyn. “I am going to marry you.”

Galyn found himself blinking in confusion (a common theme over the last few days), caught off guard by Itaviir’s statement. Litvir though snorted in amusement.

“Hah! You two are so silly!” Litvir giggled. “But yes, we are right, we should have three parties. So, I will organise an impromptu female night for Vikalos. Itaviir, Galyn, you two get to pick who you want to organise your male nights.”

“Is Arkay not doing guard duty right now?” Galyn asked.

“Yes, but the Thantir consists of a lot more people now. Arkay will find someone to cover for him. Probably Tenuk, since he wants to take Reksi on a walk.”

All of a sudden, Arkay appeared out of thin air. “Sorry, I heard you guys mention me organising fun and immediately got Tenuk to cover for me. Mostly because Reksi wanted to go for a walk.”

“Huh…” Galyn thought to himself, then glanced at Retvik, Litvir and Arkay before turning to Itaviir. “So, Itaviir, my partner, do you want to choose? I am not too bothered either way.”

Itaviir also glanced at the trio. After a moment though, he smiled. “I am curious what Arkay would organise for me for a singles party. So you can have Retvik, the organised member of their Trio, and I will court chaos.”

“Actually, Litvir is the chaotic evil one! I’m just chaotic neutral, Retvik is lawful good!” Arkay snickered. “But sure thing! You’re gonna have some silly fun before your wedding.”

Itaviir smiled properly. “Oh, we definitely will…”
