Adventures in the Space Between Universes
Arkay Retvik grunted as a knock on the door behind him broke his concentration. He was currently working his way through a series of videos and course books, all about what he needed to learn when it came to the Decay Lords. A lot of it was simple stuff. Rules, guidelines, terms of service. But some … Read more
Kinisis grunted and groaned as she rubbed her head, feeling very much how a Life Goddess shouldn’t. All around her were her caring Guardians, the twelve divine beings she had created from mere mortals, designed to look after her and support her. Standing directly in front of her was Phovos, the Ksithan Guardian and probably … Read more
“Hey Volt!” Wukong waved as he entered the dojo. “Long time no see!” Volt tutted as he adjusted the plants in a small Orokin planter, not really paying attention. “Hi Inaros.” “I’m Wukong.” “Oh.” Volt turned to Wukong, rubbing his two pairs of neural sensors. “Sorry about that. Been an utterly hectic month. What have … Read more
Rethais wasn’t really sure what he had did to be the subject of the High General’s rage. He had done everything that Kenon had asked and more. He had barely stopped to eat and his office was now his home. Yet for some reason, the High General was furious at him. Actually, now that Rethais … Read more
Tahnahos sipped his mug of soup as he wandered down the main hallway, all the way down into the navigation chamber. Technically it was a cockpit, but his boss seemed to hate that word, so it was the navigation room. The clear plastic doors immediately slid open so Tahnahos could pass, letting him into the … Read more
“I am surprised you asked nicely, little Decaylings…” the Whenvern growled as he hovered above the ship, blocking its passengers from passing. “I expected to see more of you, in force.” Kairos eyed the two beings up and down. One of them he immediately recognized. Retvik had been a former mortal in Kairos’s previous universe … Read more
“Hey, Arky!” “Hey, Sini…” Yisini slithered her way across the various tubes and rocky girders that made up the foundation of the Whenvern’s crystal palace, heading towards the tiny little hammock that had been hung underneath it. While Yisini could have simply hovered or grown wings or something, she wanted to approach in a less … Read more
“Didn’t think we’d be seeing you again so soon…” Kal grunted as Retvik boarded the ship. “Turns out your universe exploding has been way more troublesome than the High Lords thought.” “Uh… yes…” Retvik muttered, not really sure how to reply. He felt bad because he genuinely couldn’t tell which of the 6 personalities was … Read more
“Phovos, you there?” Phovos grunted as her little telepathic communicator sprung to life. The other Guardians were messaging her from the ship outside, while she was on duty watching over their boss. “I am. What is the problem?” “Is Kinisis still with you?” the high pitched mind-voice squeaked. Phovos immediately recognized that Tahvra was communicating … Read more
“LEAVE ME ALONE!” “YOU ARE MINE!” “I DON’T BELONG TO ANYONE!” Retvik was pretty sure that was the second explosion he had experienced in about thirty seconds, but what with everything going on and him being buried in rubble, he couldn’t have been sure. There was a huge amount of shouting and screaming going on … Read more
“Well that completely backfired…” Tahnahos grunted as the ship door slammed shut. “I genuinely don’t think that could have gone any worse if we’d tried.” Tahnahos’s complaining though was met with a handful of shrugs from his fellow guardians. Most of the Twelve had gone to bed, giving up on trying to cheer Kinisis up, … Read more
“Can they see us or hear us yet?” Arkay asked as he tried to remain calm and steady on the small stool he was sitting on. In front of him, a couple of Decay Lords that he didn’t really recognize were busy setting up a camera and a microphone, so he could talk to a … Read more
“What part of “no contact with the Decayling” does your Life Goddess not understand?” Vikalos snarled as he answered the video call. “You need to back away from this immediately!” The tiny little deity on the other end of the line was visibly shaken, having jumped out of his skin from how loud Vikalos’s words … Read more
“Well, Kinisis is in a foul mood…” Relkir growled as he picked himself up off the floor and dusted himself down. The Life Goddess had been throwing things around for the last few hours, and that had included all the Guardians who had attempted to calm her down. While Atteh’Kus was lying unconscious in the … Read more
“Hey…” The voice in the dark surprised Tahnahos. He had been sitting in the cockpit, minding his own business, keeping an eye on the ship and its maintenance while everyone else was asleep.
