Adventures in the Space Between Universes
Arkay Arkay paced up and down his apartment, not sure what to do with himself. He had done exactly as Sini had requested, sealing himself away, quarantining himself and drinking plenty of water. However he was struggling with Sini’s final task of keeping himself calm. After all, the unthinkable had happened. Arkay had been corrupted. Maybe … Read more
Galyn paced up and down the cargo bay, where his six new Decaylings were lined up, tallest to shortest. Behind him were two of his three trusted Decay Lords, with Seimeni currently busy keeping an eye on the autopilot. Each of the Decaylings had done alright so far, dealing with basic ship duties and working … Read more
Sini hated silence. Normally, whenever Sini worked, she’d do so in one of her many labs, which were often filled with all sorts of life. Chirping insects, songbirds, the cracking of twigs and the rustling of leaves as creatures foraged through the undergrowth. If she was in one of her higher level labs, designed for … Read more
“Wow, your place is a shithole.” Arkay rolled his eyes as he let the pink-skinned Temthan in. The Allbirther rarely visited the tiny place that the Thantophor called home, and for good reason. While all the other deities lived in vast palaces dotted across the universe, Arkay just lived in a little apartment in the … Read more
“Is that Lightbearer?” Kama whispered to Matu as the four Lanex entered the arena. The Imperatorai Hordikai were the second highest ranked Lanex team fighting in the Great Arena, and considered one of the best when it came to Capture the Flag matches, beaten only by those with rather… unholy powers. Today though, they were … Read more
Nyssi crossed her legs awkwardly, trying to hide her nervousness as as she sat on the stool in the Raptor’s office. The Raptor had wanted to speak to Nyssi specifically, and she was not exactly sure why. She had some idea, but, as far as Nyssi was concerned, she’d been a good girl and a … Read more
Relkir sighed to himself as he wandered up and down the aisles of this nonsensical supermarket. The Thantir Two was currently docked at the Miassivio Pleasure Mall, the biggest and only mall in the Shadowvern Straights, a piece of the Periuniversal Void not too far from the Thantir’s normal roaming grounds. Things had been rough … Read more
“Uh, hi again…” Sini crossed her arms as she stared at the small, black, furry Ksithan standing in front of her. The Ksithan that had randomly just started coughing and spluttering, before straightening itself out and awkwardly rubbing its neck. “Why do you only ever visit me when you need me, little Arkay?” Sini growled, … Read more
“Oh hello there, beauty!” Nyssi couldn’t help but smile as the colossal True Thrack glided from pillar to pillar. She’d helped capture the beast not too long ago, and was wondering when she’d finally see it in the Great Arena. She just didn’t think she’d be trapped in the same stadium as it was. The … Read more
The Tainted Fangs were a menace even compared to other Temthan teams. Vicious and somewhat cruel, they openly used pheromones and toxins to knock their challengers out. Unfortunately, it seemed that Kayel hadn’t read the tactics sheet that Retvik had printed out for his team mates, and now he was struggling to stay on his … Read more
“Tahvra, wake up…” Tahvra rubbed his eyes, trying to work out where he was and what was going on. He was lying on the ground, covered in blankets, tied to a chair, while a small fire flickered in front of him, held in place by a tiny gravitational generator. Normally, on the other side of … Read more
The Temple of the Silent Blade was one of the many small, unoccupied churches across the capital city of Phos, essentially a concrete box with a small wooden, never-locked door and a small shrine inside. While most Rethavok only lightly worshipped their matron deity, the Panelix, the current High General had allowed the construction of … Read more
As consciousness returned to the Lord of Decay, the first thing he did was break out in a coughing fit. Not quite awake, Arkay desperately reached for the first container of liquid he could find and quickly swallowed it. Sure, the liquid turned out to be flat lemonade mixed with a bit too much vodka, … Read more
“Uh, were you expecting anyone, Retvik?” The exhausted Rethan peeled himself off the sofa, giving Nyssi a tired tut as an answer. While their battle today had only lasted half an hour, the crowds continued to cheer for nearly an extra twenty minutes, demanding to know who they had just witnessed. It had gotten so … Read more
