Adventures in the Space Between Universes
Arkay “Hey, may I have a word with you?” Decay Lord Retvik looked up from what he was doing. He had been helping his friend and partner Phovos fill in some paperwork, allowing her to study as a Decayling despite technically being a Life Goddess. At the door, fellow Decay Lord Litvir was standing awkwardly, an … Read more
Arkay tutted to himself as he went to the front door, fumbling with the key briefly. He knew exactly who it was, and had decided to take his sweet time, putting on an (actually clean for once) Skyan hoodie and some baggy trousers. After all, the Whenvern had all the time in the universe to … Read more
“Hit me.” The four very different beings stood in the middle of the hall. The floor was made from a springy, wood-like substance, while the walls were insulated, to protect from loud noises. Along one wall was a wide array of various blunted weapons and equipment, all meant for practice and training. But right now, … Read more
“Litvir, Retvik, what are you doing here?” The two powerful beings stood in front of Galyn’s desk. One glistened with golden flames, the other hid within an ominous aura. Both of them were smaller than Galyn, but they were in his way, blocking the door to his office. “Can we have a word, please?” Retvik … Read more
There was always something about the Raptor that unsettled Retvik. Sure, he had fought a multitude of beings in all the years he had been working for her, heck, he had even been face to face with literal deities, but the Raptor had an unusual, almost ancient aura to her. One that Retvik now felt … Read more
“I have an idea. A very stupid idea.” Kayel glanced up from his drink and his communicator. He’d been messaging with some of his old friends, namely his old captain, who had wanted to get back in touch after Kayel’s… adventure. And, just like everyone else in the building, he was quite drunk. “What sort … Read more
Arkay sighed as he stepped into the shower in his tiny apartment, on the edges of a backwater city. He turned on the taps, waiting for warm water to come through, before deciding not to bother. It wasn’t water anyway, it was a strong acid, a decontaminant. He needed to wash the burning, corrupting blood … Read more
“So, uh, time to send you four home…” Arkay turned to the four mortals, then sighed. The term ‘mortal’ felt wrong. These four, they had been born as mortals, but now, they were… something else. Unkillable. Immortal, perhaps. All because Arkay had… broken at the perfect time. Here they now were, standing in front of … Read more
For the first time since she had been resurrected, Kinisis looked somewhat uneasy. The appearance of her favourite daughter, Sini, the Lifebringer, had made a mess of her plans. The initial idea was to kill the Thantophor, capture and torture the Panelix and then take over the universe with Sini and Kairos under her control. … Read more
Blade clashed against blade, flickers of flame littered the battlefield, blood soaked the ground, yet still the hideous Goddess was still standing. Everything Arkay and Kairos had thrown at Kinisis, she had managed to simply soak up. Sure, she was injured, bleeding, but she wasn’t slowing down. Then again, Arkay hadn’t slowed down either. The … Read more
No one was sure whether things had been going well or not. The Thantophor’s instructions had been very clear, but they… hadn’t found any corruption. They had, however, found a lot of scratches and cuts. For some reason, as the four mortals walked across the skeletal terrain, the ground seemed to spike up around them, … Read more
This is a send-off story for a series I started in 2011 on BZPower, and decided to write some sort of ending to. Long-time readers might recognize these guys through from… somewhere in MK4… “I swear, we were gone for like five minutes, and everything has disappeared!” Tahnok rubbed his large, blue eyes, trying to … Read more
“Oh thank-” Arkay paused, unsure how to finish his own sentence. Either way, as far as he was concerned, neither Sini nor Epani were present. The massive, crystalline palace was completely intact, however, there was a circle of burnt corpses surrounding the entrance. Arkay couldn’t recognize them though, their features had been sheered away, as … Read more
“The fastest ship in the sector…” Tenuk couldn’t help but admire the beauty of a ship standing in front of him. He had never really been hugely interested in space craft, but this elegant, sleek design, it was simply gorgeous. And painted black, having come straight from the Skyan military. Or K-Class, as they called … Read more
“So, you finally got your name changed…” Kayel sat up straight to see who was talking to him. “Teekay? What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be-” Teekay wagged a finger. Unlike most Skyavok, Teekay had rather pale skin and bright orange armour. But like Kayel, he was a former Phantasma. And Kayel’s former captain. … Read more
