Southern Visitor

“Excuse me! What do you think you’re doing?”

Tahnahos tutted and waggled his finger at the being who had just appeared on the balcony. While Phovos had been the first to notice this being’s presence, the little Kronospast was the one to actually go out and address the being, since he didn’t instinctively snarl at threats the way the Raptor did. By his side was Akah, carrying his unusual-as-always scythe and shield combination.

“Is this not Kinisis’s universe?” the being asked. Whatever it was, it was certainly both feminine and godly. The creature looked like it could potentially have come from this universe, but it seemed too fleshy in some placed and too well-armoured in others. While it had a heavy, fleshy, breasted chest, her arms and legs tapered off into long, sharp points.

“Before I answer that,” Tahnahos tutted as he summoned a pad and pen and began writing things down. “Gonna need some information from ya. Most importantly, your name, race and purpose for visiting.”

“So this IS Kinisis’s universe?” the being repeated.

“Technically? No. Information, please.”

The being sighed. “Seimeni, Life Goddess, visiting my aunt.”

Tahnahos paused, turned to Akah, then looked up at Seimeni. “Did you say aunt?”

“Yes.”

“Do you mind staying here one sec?” Tahnahos asked as he stepped backwards, back into the outpost. “Akah here will keep an eye on things.”

Seimeni nodded. “No worries.”

Confused, Tahnahos dashed inside, only to run straight into Phovos.

“Did she say “aunt”?” Phovos hissed.

“Yeah!”

“Like, blood aunt? Or what?”

“I don’t know!” Tahnahos exclaimed. “Does that mean she’s your aunt, since you’re technically Kinisis’s daughter?”

“Wouldn’t she be my cousin? And also a cousin to Epani and Yisini and Arkadin?”

Tahnahos hesitated. “Not Kairos?”

“Kairos was born from the universe before.”

“So was Arkadin…” Tahnahos’s jaw fell open as he realised something. “I just recognised the damn name! Seimeni is the name of that other Death God that Arkay liked. The one that wanted to fuck him.”

Phovos blinked. “That… can’t be right… Arkadin wouldn’t have accepted anything like that.”

“Yeah, he was fervently against his siblings fucking, I’d doubt he’d have willingly been the same with this Seimeni person.”

“Unless he… didn’t know or something?”

Tahnahos shrugged. “I mean, she might not mean it in a family based way. She might just be on friendly terms with Kinisis…”

A cough interrupted the two Guardians. Relkir was tutting loudly.

“You two done yet?”

Tahnahos and Phovos eyed each other nervously.

“I… guess?”

“Good. Because I have informed the other six that we have a potential visitor. They will deal with her. It is not our job to scrutinize this being and their potential relationships with others.”

Tahnahos frowned, then sighed, nodding in agreement. “You’re right, Relkir. I’ll go let her know.”

With more tuts and sighs, Tahnahos headed back outside, where Seimeni was patiently waiting. She had been looking rather intently at Akah, trying to work out whether he was a Voidborn or not, and making Akah very uncomfortable in the process.

“I am not a Voidborn.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes.”

“Positive?”

“Yes!” Akah glared at Tahnahos, giving him a desperate “where were you?” look.

“Hi there,” Tahnahos smiled. “We’ve gone through your info. You should be allowed to enter, but you’ll have to go in through the North Outpost. This outpost is for exit traffic only. If you just follow the outer shell north, you’ll see the north entrance in no time at all. The Guardians at the North Outpost will guide you from there.”

Seimeni smiled back and bowed, creating a pretty pair of silken wings behind her. “Alright! Thank you for the help! See you round!”

In a puff of silver smoke, the Life Goddess was gone, leaving the Guardians with nothing more than a handful of awkward stares.

“Well that could have gone a lot worse!” Tahnahos beamed as he headed back inside.

“Speak for yourself…” Akah grunted. “I suppose now I know what it’s like to be mentally undressed…”
