Adventures in the Space Between Universes
Arkay “THEY ARE ATTACKING US NOW?” Vikalos roared as he grabbed several Decaylings and pulled them to safety. An explosion had shattered parts of the cargo bay and fires were slowly making their way down the ship. As soon as the Thantir began to shoot back though, the Voidlord army immediately scattered and disappeared. Only a … Read more
“You have been awfully cold over the last couple of days, are you alright?” Arkay grunted, glancing around the corridor. This was the first time he and Retvik had been alone lately, but Arkay really wasn’t in the mood for any sort of communication with other beings. “I’m fine.” “Please do not lie to me.” … Read more
“So that is basically what you both do as work?” Tahnahos asked as the four beings headed back to the ship. “You just stand on guard for Life Goddesses?” Retvik nodded as he fumbled around for his keys. Most of his belongings these days were kept inside a single, battered backpack, and his keys would … Read more
Lysar smiled cheerfully as she carried a massive cauldron of food to the table and plonked it down on the heavy cork mat in the table’s centre. Around the table were more beings than Lysar had expected, but she always cooked too much, so it wasn’t a problem. “Dinner is ready, eat up, kids!” Everyone … Read more
“Can I keep him please, dad? Pleaseeeeee?” Rethais grunted as he threw his briefcase on the floor and chucked his cape vaguely at the cape hook, then grunted some more as he had to pick both items up and put them away properly. He hadn’t even properly looked at whatever the fuck his son Trismit … Read more
Retvik hated this office. It was too plain. Even by Rethan standards. Considering that he was standing in front of a powerful Decay Lord, it felt strange that this room was so simple. “Please, sit down.” There were two empty stools. Retvik sat on the one closest to the Decay Lord, to not seem rude. … Read more
“HEY GUYS!” Elksia squealed as she stomped into the observatory, where Retvik and Arkay had been quietly sitting and studying. “WHAT’S UP?” “What’s up?” Arkay replied back, looking confused. “You… you were gone for fucking ages, that’s what’s up. I thought you went to make yourself a sandwich?” Elksia smiled, then pulled out a very … Read more
“Elksia has been gone a while…” Retvik grunted as he flicked through a large pile of notes. Between his Decayling lessons and his work guarding ungrateful Life Goddesses, Retvik hadn’t really had much time to do any studying on his own. Retvik wasn’t alone in this regard. Most of the Decaylings here were in the … Read more
Kohra gasped for air as he pulled himself out of the water fountain, trying not to choke on dirty, endlessly recycled water. It must have been late as there was no one around and the lights on the edge of the fountain were the only things guiding him to safety. Everything else was pretty damn … Read more
While the sudden supply of candies and sweets had helped calm his nerves, Kohra was certain that something strange was going on. According to the guards muttering outside his cell, he was supposed to have been shoved onto a ship and abandoned in some remote region. But apparently, one of the Void Lord’s own advisors … Read more
“Where do you think you’re going?” Tahnahos swallowed nervously as the weight of his backpack shifted, carefully tucked to one side as to not interfere with his two pairs of wings. “Uh… nowhere…” Both Tahnahos and Kinisis knew he was lying. In all honesty, Tahnahos hadn’t expected to have been caught out so quickly. “No, … Read more
“I think… I may have miscalculated…” Kohra muttered to himself as he collapsed in the middle of the hall, his strength flooding from his tiny body. It had taken all of Kohra’s might to achieve this singular feat, to teleport the last 203 remaining Kronospasts to a new, safer home. But in his desire to … Read more
Kohra grunted as he spat metallic blood from his mouth, then carefully wiped tears and more blood from two of his eyes. The formerly noble Kronospast was covered from head to toe in dust and pain, white and gold robes turned grey from dirt. Standing behind Kohra were a handful of weary soldiers, covering for … Read more
Kairos grunted as he got up to answer the door. He’d had a stressful day erecting massive time shields around his siblings’ little universe and had just sat down to have some dinner, so he wasn’t impressed with this interruption. He didn’t even know who it was, as he knew that Epani and Yisini were … Read more
“Do you ever get bored, Yisini?” The Allbirther rolled her eyes at Kenon’s question. She was bored right now, clearing up the remains of a small outbreak in a suburban Temthan town. She had been bored a lot lately, having been busy dealing with both the life and death sides of reality and not really … Read more
