Adventures in the Space Between Universes
Arkay Something is different around here. Some time ago, I allowed myself to become Kinisis’s partner. My duties mostly remained the same. Kill the unkillable. Protect the Cycle. Lead the Veth. The first two, they seem mostly identical to the duties I performed before I took Kinisis’s hand. The latter… Well, that is what’s changed. I … Read more
Retvik was wandering around the house, inspecting every nook and cranny. He was in an indecisive mood, but also feeling a tad cranky and rather nervous. The last time he had been pregnant, well, it hadn’t turned out well for him. In the middle of the house was a vast pile of cushions and pillows. … Read more
Psiksi was late getting home again. He’d been keeping quiet about his new job lately. He wasn’t even really willing to tell his partner about any of this. That was why he had left really early and returned really late. Unfortunately, this hadn’t worked out. “Where have you been?” Kass stood in the doorway, tapping … Read more
“Last night was alright, in the end…” Gath smiled as he rolled over in bed to get his alarm clock. “Clearly, because we have overslept.” “It was fun, actually!” Retvik admitted. “Made some new friends. Chatted with the Raptor. She is always nice to talk to.” “Seemed very excited about her new collection of house … Read more
Retvik was taking a rather long time in the bathroom. He and Gath were supposed to be getting ready for a stupid party neither of them wanted to go to, but for some reason, Retvik seemed a bit poorly. They still had to go though, as the party was about them. A thank you party … Read more
Phovos stood at her balcony, watching the chaotic battle unfold below her. She was immensely enjoying her newest House Fighter. Even in his current temporary set of armour, he had beaten the shit out of several hot-headed Cassids in their stupid dumb mechs. That always caused the crowds to cheer, although Phovos was never keen … Read more
Psiksi was waiting patiently again. Yesterday had been a complete blur, a whole mess of things, so he didn’t mind waiting. He’d gone and completed like seven different trials, all testing normal things. But he hadn’t fought a single actual living being yet. And he was kinda tired. After the last trial, they sent him … Read more
The House Fighters’ entrance was small and unpronounced, to the point that Psiksi would have missed it if it wasn’t for the fact that there were several other beings already waiting outside. Feeling nervous, Psiksi decided to hang around the back. He was early. Half an hour early. Probably for the best because the instructions … Read more
The happy little creature sat in the only chair in the waiting room, its legs swinging back and forth, only just touching the ground. The creature was quite well armoured. “Kayel…” “Welcome back, Emel…” The collection of Ksa had traipsed through kilometers of forest, looking for a single tree house. They had expected to see a very basic home run by six Rethans. Arkay was lying on the beach, staring at the vast array of galaxies in the sky above him. He had things to do, but he didn’t want to do them. As far as Arkay was concerned, he’d just helped save the universe again. All his normal duties could wait. “You’re staring at me.” Kinisis was … Read more
Elkay had no idea what to expect as he and Arkay landed on the shores of Kinigi. Part of Elkay’s mind expected there to be fire and brimstone and suffering and things like that. Or maybe an endless black pit of nothingness. Or maybe lots of clouds and little winged beings with harps. The last … Read more
The Crewman could hear lockers opening. He had finished his shift and was going to head down to the canteen for lunch. He needed to drop off his weapon and change out of his suit. Arkay had been right behind him, but suddenly he wasn’t there. The Whenvern turned round and found that Arkay had stopped in his tracks. “Veth Prime, is something wrong?” “We need to go back to Kinigi, right now.” Kairos blinked. “Why?” “Stasis has broken through. He’s trying to attack Kinisis!” “Oh.” Arkay was about to … Read more
