Telepathic Ramble

“What are you doing here in the dark?” Litvir asked as he pushed the door slightly ajar. Just out of view was Kuta, muttering to himself. As the door creaked slightly, Kuta looked up to see who was bothering him.

“Oh, hi brother, come in if you want…” Kuta seemed somewhat upset. Litvir hesitated slightly, then opened the door fully and entered Kuva’s rather messy bedroom.

“Is something wrong?” Litvir glanced around. Kuta’s extra armour sets and stomach wraps were strewn everywhere. “You do not seem well at all.”

Kuta tutted, lying back down on his bed. “I’m not unwell. I just… kinda feel weird.”

“How so?” Litvir stepped into the room but remained standing. There wasn’t really anywhere to sit down anyway. “Is something troubling you?”

With a small tut, Kuta moved the conversation into his head. “I kinda do not want Retvik or Galyn to hear us.”

Litvir nodded, switching to his telepathic voice. “You generally seem a bit down.”

“I feel kinda… emotional right now.” Kuta admitted. “But I do not know how to describe it or who to talk to.”

“Are you… embarrassed?”

Kuta shrugged. “I guess? It is a… complicated emotion. Not one I really understand.”

“How so?” Litvir inched further into the room, so he could sit down next to his twin.

“Can I ask you a question, Litvir? Actually, can I ask you several questions?”

“Of course.”

Kuta sighed. “I do not know how to put this nicely, but why are you not a massive cunt any more?”

“You spent all that time gestating inside me, and you do not know why I changed?” Litvir blinked with confusion. “Did you not sift through my memories?”

Kuta shrugged. “No, not really. Your brain got scrambled, from what I can tell, but… it cannot just be that.”

“Well, it was. I was genuinely humbled. And Retvik made me eat more humble pie for, well, not instantly murdering me. Considering what I had done to him, he was… almost too kind.”

“To the point that you sleep with him?”

Litvir closed his eyes and tutted. “That is… a whole different subject.”

“You made Retvik fall in love with you?”

“No. Thanks to a certain Life Goddess, Retvik and I became so desperate that we put our differences aside to deal with our urges.”

“Yet you…”

“It is simply a matter of friends with benefits. There is no real interest in a true romantic relationship between us both.”

Kuta shivered slightly, taking a moment to compose his thoughts. “Is it really… does that mean that Retvik might be…” Kuta stopped, sighed, then started again. “I find Retvik very attractive.”

Litvir let out a small laugh. “Of course. He is literally a specimen of Rethan perfection. Proud, powerful, honourable and, well… well-equipped.”

“Do I have a… chance with him?”

“Uh…” Litvir hesitate, completely thrown off guard. “I… I definitely cannot answer that. You would, uh, have to ask Retvik yourself.”

“I thought as much…” Kuta tutted. “It’s just, I have all these emotions and do not know what to do with them.”

“I understand. Everything has been so hectic lately.”

Kuta shrugged. “At least we have free food and drink and beds and stuff. May be hectic but I think we did hit the jackpot.”

Litvir nodded in agreement. “You certainly are right. Life is pretty good right now…”
