Hangovers and Plans

Kinisis grunted and groaned as she rubbed her head, feeling very much how a Life Goddess shouldn’t. All around her were her caring Guardians, the twelve divine beings she had created from mere mortals, designed to look after her and support her.

Standing directly in front of her was Phovos, the Ksithan Guardian and probably Kinisis’s favourite. Mainly because Phovos looked a lot like her. A stricter, uglier version of Kinisis, a mirror she could turn to whenever she was feeling ugly herself. Right now though, Phovos was trying to shove a glass of water into Kinisis’s hand.

“I told you that you needed to stay hydrated.”

Kinisis tutted. “You are the one that kept me in an Oasis bar and wouldn’t let me leave, what else was I supposed to do apart from get drunk?”

“Get drunk and have a glass of water between each drink…” Phovos sighed. “But we are back on board now, everything is sorted and we are awaiting your instruction.”

The Allmaker glanced at her subjects. “You… sure about that? I mean, did they find my son?”

Tahnahos, the small, four-eyed fluttering Kronospast Guardian, smiled a little too much. “Kinisis, the Thantir found Arkadin, the managed to talk him into calming down and he’s going to train under their watchful eyes for a bit. They also mentioned how he is interested in learning about “Life Goddess stuff” so there’s hope there as well.”

“He said that?” Kinisis blinked. “Really?”

“Apparently. According to the Thantir. But they have been honest with us the entire time, so I don’t see why they’d lie about what Arkadin said now.”

Kinisis blinked some more, then cheerfully patted Tahnahos on the head. She then went back to looking at each of her Guardians, this time smiling rather than looking all confused.

“I see you’ve been busy too, Tahnahos. Getting everyone happy, comfortable and paired up. I’m impressed!” With more smiles, Kinisis accepted the drink Phovos was offering her and staggered to her feet. “You have all impressed me with your willingness to serve! I think you all deserve a treat, after we’ve finished this leg of my, uh, apology tour.”

“Are we actually officially calling it that?” Vexer whispered to Tahvra and Fragiir.

“Yep. That’s what we’re calling it!” Kinisis beamed, overhearing her chattering Guardians. “After all, I did… accidentally do a lot of damage, and that damage needs repairing. But in my weariness, I didn’t realise that some things need repairing before others. I’ll just have to come back to Arkadin later on when he’s mourned for a bit…”

“So what is the plan now, Kinisis?” Teekay and Tahvra both accidentally asked in unison. The Skyan and the Vohra glanced at each other, and Teekay allowed Tahvra to go first.

“Are we gonna go to other universes and stuff again or we gonna do something else?”

Kinisis thought to herself for a moment, then summoned a notebook out of thin air. She flicked through the pages, humming.

“Hm… There’s not many places left we need to visit. Might as well get those out of the way, before we move on to more… fun things.”

“Like what?”

Kinisis smiled. “Well, we’ve got to start work on a new universe at some point. But before then, there’s plenty of partying to do…”
