The majority of electricity in Vohran nests comes from two sources – geothermal power stations, and large groups of either electric, magnetic or fire-elemental Vohra. As those three elements are the most common among Vohra, after earth, water and air, these Vohra will spend 8 hour shifts generating electricity to power any nest that lacks geothermal power. On worlds outside the main Vohra-controlled planets, this practice is more common, due to being easier to create new nests more quickly.
Vohra used in power generation are more likely to gender male and eventually become Varga, as well as being more likely to reach adulthood at a younger age. The majority of these Vohra will opt to be castrated at a young age.
The few Varga that maintain their elemental powers after reaching adulthood are kept by Vayra for breeding purposes, but Varga coming from power generators are always abandoned, dumped or killed.
